"It's Not Pain Management, Its Pain Solutions "
Neurostimulation provides pain relief by disrupting the pain signals traveling between the spinal cord and the brain. In other words, it outsmarts your pain. This is a single use, battery-powered, electrical nerve stimulator used as a complementary therapy to increase the transcutaneous oxygen partial pressure.
Stivax Neurostimulator Treatment:
Because acute and chronic pain sufferers have different needs, Stivax output can be customized for each individual patient by diagnosis, comfort, and tolerance. The initial application is designed to immediately mitigate pain and provide early relief. Array placement modifications and output adjustments may be made during structured follow up appointments.
Continuous stimulation of the Vagus nerve is aimed to improve microcirculation in extremities, aid healing, and decrease chronic and acute exercise dependent pain.
Before the procedure, Dr. Cunningham will determine the correct nerve access points for the placement. Each treatment will last approximately 15 min with a 2 week process. A common protocol is 3 phases over a total of 60 days. Stivax is water resistant and generally will not affect your normal routine. You may be scheduled for several follow up visits so Shelby or DeVeane our nurse practitioners can check your progress, comfort, and adjust the output of the device.
The device may be installed in same the site visit concurrent with diagnostic testing or during a subsequent visit. Repositioning/replacement can be performed within normal visit durations.
Randomized, controlled studies indicate that the majority of patients describe at least 50% reduction in pain and further accumulation of pain reduction in subsequent months. Some patients, having solely relied upon narcotic drug therapies, have been able to discontinue the use of these conventional medicines and extend walking distances.
Conditions That May Benefit From Stivax:
-Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy(RSD)
-Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
-Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
-Back and Neck Pain-Post-Surgical Pain
-Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
